A chilled out Sunday

Well, I know it is Tuesday, I'm a little late chatting about Sunday, right?

But I just could not resist sharing a few snaps of the walk I did.  The walk was simple & I was accompanied by my aunt Jojo.  We actually travelled to Dublin together... But I will share all that next post.

We took a small stroll from Bedwas to Caerphilly to have a day out in the fresh winter air.  It was a crisp dry day thankfully.  And well, you can see from my photo how lovely it was!

How pretty is Caerphilly castle?  Plus what a glorious day it was.  Just a little info.  The castle is Norman and was rebuilt in the 1950s.  A closer look will show you where the bricks/stone are different.  The stone is the very old foundations.  Considering it was built around 1272, I think it is incredible.  Plus the restoration work was amazingly well done.

I always enjoy walking around here, especially on a pretty day.  Shall have to dig out some pics from around 3/4 years ago with some snow on the castle & it's surroundings.  If you ever do come to visit Wales, Caerphilly is just north of Cardiff.  You can get a bus easily from Cardiff or catch the train ( I find the train much easier) although a return will set you back between £6-7 which is not cheap but 3 or more people can get a group save.

it is worth seeing at least once in your life, so many stories over time.  Imagine this has stood proudly in the town centre for many centuries.

Also, there are many wild ducks, geese and swans around the moat area.  These little buggers are very greedy and can hear the rustle of bread in a bag from a mile off.  They will all be swarming around you so be warned.  But they are very beautiful to see and photograph.  If only I had a nice DSLR camera to take such pleasant pics rather than my iPhone.

Hope you enjoyed reading about my simple Sunday.

Have a great evening wherever you are.  If you ever have any questions, please feel free to leave a line.
